We would like to congratulate our Grade 3, 5 and 7 students for outstanding 2023 NAPLAN results. The College has performed exceptionally across all subject areas, and across all year levels. Most importantly, the level of improvement we have witnessed in your daughters is a real credit to each of them individually.
The 2023 Student NAPLAN reports are different to previous years, with different categories for student achievement benchmarked against higher national standards. Our College supports these higher standards, as they are a more realistic snapshot of student achievement and provide the College with useful data regarding where students require improvement.
School comparisons between State and National data are not yet available. However, from our initial data, it is clear that all three grade levels have performed exceptionally well. Please find below a snapshot of our results for 2023.
- In Grade 3, 78% of students are classified as strong or exceeding standard in all areas, with 100% classified strong or exceeding in Writing.
- In Grade 5, 86% of students are classified as strong or exceeding standard in all areas, with 100% classified strong or exceeding in Reading.
- In Grade 7, 100% of students are classified as strong or exceeding in all areas. This outstanding result for our Grade 7 class is extremely impressive!
These results demonstrate the significant improvement that we consistently see in our students during their time at Harkaway Hills College, and it is reassuring to see this continued growth in our NAPLAN results over the years.
This excellent outcome follows an extraordinary year for NAPLAN in 2022, in which Harkaway Hills College was ranked 2nd in Victoria for Primary NAPLAN. Click here for more information.
