>> Inaugural Athletics Carnival a huge success
What a brilliant day we had for the inaugural Harkaway Hills College Athletics Day on Friday 19 July at Casey Field Regional Athletic Centre!
Students from Prep-Year 4 were challenged in new ways as they competed in the 100m, 200m, 800m, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus and 4 x 100m relay events. It was impressive to see students put in their personal best and push themselves further to perform. Congratulations to each one of you! A number of students will be competing the District Track and Field Athletics event on Thursday 15 August – we wish them all the best. A huge thank you to the parents and staff who helped the event run so smoothly and for making the day so memorable.
>> 2019 Monash Youth Festival
We are very much looking forward to seeing the Harkaway Hills College Choir perform at the 2019 Monash Youth Music Festival on Monday 19 August. Best of luck for all the students performing individual pieces in the coming weeks, once again this is a special moment in our school’s history, and all participants should be very proud. A special thank you to Mrs Johanna Chavez who is working hard behind the scenes to prepare our performers.
>> Celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Students in Year 1 and 2 celebrated the very special feast day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel last week by making Rosary Beads during their Religion class. What beautiful work by our students!
>> Term 3 Motto: Justice
The Term 3 virtue focus at Harkaway Hills College is Justice! Our Prep students reflected on ways they can work together as a team and help one another at home and at school. We can’t wait to see our students put their virtue lessons into action this term.
