>> Book Week 2019 a huge success!

We had an incredible Book Week Parade today at Harkaway Hills College, with students (and  parents) going above and beyond in the creation of their costumes as well as in the Reading Challenge for 2019. Book Week is such a special way to encourage students to immerse themselves in reading. Thank you everyone for being such good sports and getting involved!

>> Prep Excursion to Taskworks!

What a great time our Foundation class had at Taskworks this week as they celebrated 100 days of school! Thank you to our Prep teachers and parent volunteers who made the excursion so much fun.

>> Mass for the Solemnity of the Assumption

Thank you to all the parents, staff and students who attended our beautiful Mass for the Solemnity of the Assumption on Thursday 15 August, it was a special moment to pray for our school as a united community. Thank you also to the families who sent in the beautiful flowers for Our Lady. Take a look at the beautiful rosaries that the Year 3/4 Girls class made to celebrate the Feast Day…

>> Huge success in District Athletics

What a massive effort from our 12 champions who represented Harkaway Hills College for the very first time at the District Athletics Carnival in Knoxfield. From our small team of 12 students, we received 13 ribbons, and 4 of our students will proceed into the Divisional Track and Field competition!

>> Brilliant Performance from the Harkaway Hills College Choir

What a performance! The Harkaway Hills College choir received an Honourable Mention at their first ever Eisteddfod as part of the 2019 Monash Youth Music Festival. They were the smallest and youngest choir on stage, but they delivered a performance well beyond their years.

The students performed Shalom Chaverim, a Traditional Israeli Song arranged by Mark O’Leary, and Get on Board This Train, a Traditional Spiritual arranged by Don Besing.

A very special thank you to the parents who attended the performance and those who supported the choir with their time and prayers, to Mrs Johanna Chavez for preparing and conducting the choir, to Mr Frank Monagle for his assistance, and to Miss Ianthe Lim for accompanying the choir during their performance. We will see great things from this little group in the future. Congratulations all!

We also congratulate Grace Sudjono (Grade 4) on her fantastic performance in the piano competition on Saturday 10 August as part of the Monash Music Festival. Our entire recital team did a magnificent job, thank you Mrs Chavez for preparing them so well!
