>> Grandparents’ Day 2019

What a beautiful way to end Term 3 with a very special Grandparents Day! Our students were overjoyed to share some of their work and talents with family members during what was a wonderful few hours. I would like to thank everyone for the hard work they put into baking cakes and providing food for the lovely lunch we shared after the concert, and thank you to the Grandparents who travelled from all over Melbourne (and Australia) to spend the day with us. We hope all our families have a restful school break. See you in Term 4!

>> Egg Drop Challenge!

The Year 2-4 Boys Class and Year 3/4 Girls Class have been busy working on their egg drop challenge projects this past fortnight. The boys and girls were asked to create a structure that could protect an egg from cracking after being dropped from a height. Their designs were very creative, and the students learned so much from the project.

>> Year 1/2 learned about Australian Explorers from the Year 3/4 Girls!

Thank you to the Year 3/4 Girls for their excellent history presentations that they presented to the Year 1/2 class to help them learn more about our Australian explorers. The Year 3/4 girls dressed up as each explorer and enjoyed getting into character, and the Year 1/2 students had excellent questions for the explorers about their adventures.

>> Learning about the Structure of Plants with Prep

Our Foundation class have had a wonderful few weeks engaging in hands-on learning as they unpacked the structure of plants. They even grew some plants for their own!

>> Packing Christmas gifts for the poor

Aa part of our Term 3 focus on Justice, students from all grades have done an excellent job collecting and packing shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for the poor. This project is part of Operation Christmas Child, and the boxes will be sent all over the world just in time for children to open at Christmas time. I was a lovely project for our students to get involved in, thank you all for = for helping your children with this important aspect of justice.

>> Congratulations to our Athletics Team!

Congratulations to Mariana,  Sophie, Sienna and Claire Burger for representing Harkaway Hills College at the Division Athletics Competition on Wednesday 18 September, after their excellent achievement at District level. They all put in 100%!
